ICMEg kick-off for a new European project - Aachen October 11, 2013

The Integrated Computational Materials Engineering expert group (ICMEg) recently had its kick-off meeting in Aachen.

The aim of ICMEg is to develop a global open standard for information exchange between different kinds of numerical simulation tools. The ICMEg welcomes all who are willing and capable to contribute.

Currently, the main body of the ICMEg, the ICMEg consortium, is funded by theEuropean Commission and is made up of 11 partners from 6 European countries. Included as partners are academic institutions, SME and private non-profit software providers from the areas of computational materials modeling and simulation of materials processing. Each partner has already initiated its own platform strategies in relation to ICME. To achieve its global ambition, the ICMEg consortium is involved in joint activities with a number of associated partners around the globe, especially from the US, Japan and India.
